Relaxing: Challenge Accepted

Today I went to the Spa with my friend R.

If you know me at all, you can imagine how difficult this was for me. First of all, I accidentally forgot my phone in the car and didn’t realize until I was in my undies and a bathrobe, so no going back to get it. I didn’t check my email of FB for 5 hours! The horror!

The massage was heavenly, but oh so long! I’ve had massages many times, but I’ve never sprung for a long one before. At the 45 min mark, the spa-music was driving me insane. And then I started thinking of all the things I could be doing instead of lying there. Don’t get me wrong, the massage was fantastic and I felt 3 inches taller when I was done, but I’m more of a 15-min adjustment at the chiro kind of girl.

After the massage, I got a much-needed facial. The good news is that I had very few blackheads. The bad news is that chemo did a number on my skin and the poor lady was at a loss as to exactly what to do to fix it. But fix it she did. I am glowing and soft and very well moisturized. But again, the spa music… argh! My perfect spa would either have 80s on 8 or CNN so at least I could be keeping up to date.

The chocolate covered strawberries though, those were just my style. As was the mani-pedi with paraffin dip. And at least during that part I was with R and we could chat. So I’m ready for my surgery on Thursday. I am moisturized and hydrated and buffed and just a tiny bit nervous.

Even with the soda music it sounds so lovely. Though I get the music thing. Sometimes there are volume controls (which I crank down when no one is looking)
